Vehicle sharing provide a cheaper alternative than vehicle ownership, and can enable access to independent transport for people who may not otherwise be able to afford it.

Vehicles might be owned by community groups, individuals or private organisations. There are a number of options for vehicle sharing including car clubs, community transport, owners clubs as well as private car & lift shares.

There are funding sources for such projects including the Climate Challenge Fund – their website also provides links to other organisations, including CoMoUK, the charity that supports car clubs and shared transport.

Meanwhile, the Community Transport Association is a charity that represents and supports providers of community transport.
